Billie Eilish and Finneas Expand Their Creative Universe With a Sustainable Jewelry Collection

When the Grammy-winning brother-sister duo Billie Eilish and Finneas are not busy recording chart-topping albums or filling massive stadiums for live concert tours, they can often be found making music during their downtime. For the sibling pair, this creative drive has been operating at full capacity this fall, fueling late-night studio sessions and quiet collaboration at home.

"We’re in serious album mode right now," Eilish shared during a recent Zoom call. "We’ve been making a lot of music, and just hanging out with each other and our dogs." That steady creative output signals that new music may well be on the way for fans eagerly awaiting their next sonic chapter.

This week, however, the pair are stepping slightly outside of music, their core practice, to reveal an entirely different creative project: a brand-new, comprehensive collection of jewelry that they co-designed. Launching today in partnership with the heritage luxury jewelry label John Hardy, the assortment includes earrings, necklaces, bracelets, and rings. Crucially for the environmentally conscious artists, the entire line is sustainably minded, crafted entirely from repurposed precious materials and lab-grown diamonds.

The partnership builds upon a prior relationship that began last year, when Eilish and Finneas served as both the faces and creative collaborators for John Hardy’s JH Lovestruck collection. Having tested the waters with the brand, the siblings felt this year was the ideal moment to elevate their involvement by designing striking pieces of their own. "There was a thought that, down the road, we’d do a collection, but there was no pressure for it," Eilish reflects.

To bring their shared vision to life, the musicians worked closely with John Hardy’s creative chairman, Reed Krakoff. Designing luxury hardware alongside a seasoned fashion executive required navigating differing aesthetic impulses, but Krakoff notes that the duo brought a distinct perspective to the drawing board.

"Billie and Finneas each have their own incredibly strong sense of personal style," Krakoff says of collaborating with the two stars. "Both were willing to go against type: Billie is known for her oversized, edgy looks, but she was drawn to delicate flowers. Finneas seems more understated and laid-back, but he’s very confident and considered in his taste."

The final result—titled the Billie Eilish and Finneas Collection, with retail prices ranging from $195 to $2,400—is divided into two distinct sub-collections that cater to different styling preferences while maintaining a cohesive ethos.

The first sub-collection, titled Wildflower, serves as a direct nod to Eilish’s hit song and centers around daintier floral motifs intended for effortless, everyday wear. Intricate pendant necklaces, delicate bracelets, earrings, and rings all feature detailed flowers carved out of reclaimed sterling silver, with select pieces punctuated by the subtle sparkle of lab-grown diamonds.

"The Wildflower-inspired collection is what we would wear day to day," Eilish explains, detailing the versatility of the pieces. Finneas echoes that sentiment, emphasizing the autonomy of the design. "I love the idea of somebody wanting the ring because they think it’s a beautiful ring—it’s not merchandise, per se. We wanted to make objects that are just appealing on their own."

Among the standout pieces in the Wildflower line is a unique style of earring that Eilish highlights for its innovative construction. "This earring is cool because there’s no backing," she says. "It’s got this long, dainty soft chain with a cute little flower at the end. You can put the chain through your ear hole or just have it dangling." Finneas, meanwhile, gravitates toward the tactile nature of the line’s fingerwear. "I’m excited to wear the Wildflower rings," he says. "The petals on the rings are very satisfying."

The second line, named Screwball, explores a harder versus softer duality, focusing on sculptural chain links and spherical hardware that make a bolder, more assertive visual statement while remaining entirely layerable. Many of the designs in the Screwball assortment evolved directly from pieces that Eilish and Finneas tested out in real-world conditions over the past year.

"I was on tour during the first several months of working on this, so I would have John Hardy send certain pieces that I could wear on stage, to see what would feel good," Eilish reveals. "I wanted something that felt like it had a presence, but wasn’t hurting my neck while I was jumping around, or getting stuck on stuff."

In fact, audiences caught glimpses of the collection long before its official launch, as the siblings sneakily wore the prototypes during many of their recent live performances. This hands-on, utilitarian testing phase proved invaluable for refining the final assortment. "We liked seeing how the pieces actually felt in our fingers—holding bracelets and necklaces in our hands," Finneas notes. "It all feels really wonderful: It’s not too heavy, but not too light."

The versatility of the collection is a point of pride for both designers. "You can wear the Wildflower rings stacked, or completely separated. There’s a lot of versatility," Eilish says, adding, "The necklace from the Screwball collection is so ideal to me—I would wear it off and on stage."

The collaboration also mirrors an evolution in the siblings’ personal style choices. Finneas explains that his wardrobe has grown increasingly minimalist over time, making the role of statement accessories even more pronounced. "I have gotten more and more minimalistic in my taste of clothing and jewelry, and the role of jewelry becomes even more obvious if you’re wearing a very low-profile outfit," he observes.

Eilish has experienced a similar shift. While she was known during her teenage years for wearing dozens of rings simultaneously and adorning herself in heavy accessories, her day-to-day style has since pared down. "When I was a teenager, I wore 10 rings every single day—I would wear so much jewelry," Eilish recalls. "Now, I rarely wear jewelry in my day-to-day life." This transition inspired them to create pieces that could slip seamlessly into a modern wardrobe without feeling overwhelming.

Throughout the design process, maintaining an uncompromised commitment to environmentally friendly practices remained paramount. Both artists insisted from the outset that the collaboration adhere to strict ecological standards. "Sustainability is such an important part of our lives, and John Hardy’s beliefs really aligned with what we prioritize and focus on," Eilish says, noting her history of leveraging her own concert tours to spotlight environmental and social causes.

Utilizing reclaimed silver and gold proved to be a natural step in the manufacturing process, though the artists were pleasantly surprised by how readily the luxury label accommodated their sustainable vision. "We’ve been taught to accept that some necessary evils are going on in manufacturing, and I don’t agree with that," Finneas remarks.

For Eilish, exploring the scientific and ethical realities of lab-grown diamonds compared to traditional mining proved to be an eye-opening experience. "They’re molecularly identical to a tee—yet one is hard on the environment and people, and one is made in a lab," she points out. "It’s also unbelievably less expensive. I still hear people say, ‘Ew, lab-grown,’ and it’s like, ‘You would never know the difference!’"

The dialogue between the artists and the brand’s manufacturers also involved a delicate balance between aesthetic minimalism and structural durability. "John Hardy is very focused on their pieces lasting for a long time," Finneas recalls of their technical discussions. "We would be like, ‘Can we make this even thinner,’ and they’d argue for something not being as breakable."

Ultimately, the debut jewelry collection stands as proof that mindful accessories can be executed with high fashion sensibilities. The sibling duo hopes the line will resonate broadly, appealing just as much to everyday consumers as it does to dedicated music fans.

"I love the idea of people with such different personal styles to Billie or me wearing these same bracelets or rings, and feeling just as comfortable and confident in it," Finneas says. "Billie has made a career out of wearing things that almost nobody else could pull off—there was a period when she cut up an IKEA bag and wore it—and you may not wear a repurposed IKEA bag as an outfit, but these rings can look great on you."

"You don’t have to be a fan of Finneas and I to like the jewelry," Eilish adds. "You can wear it because you think it’s beautiful, without the pressure of, ‘Oh, are you even a real fan?’"

As for whether this foray into jewelry design will spark a broader journey into fashion or other product categories, the siblings are keeping their options open. While they confirm that more projects with John Hardy are a strong possibility, they are taking life as it comes. "We’re definitely working on more things with John Hardy, potentially," Eilish says. "I’m not really a planner: I like to move through life ready for whatever the hell is about to happen!"
