Travel connectivity provider Holafly has officially introduced Holafly Plans, a new single eSIM subscription service designed to provide continuous data coverage across more than 160 destinations worldwide. The service marks a significant departure from traditional, destination-specific travel eSIMs by offering an ongoing, borderless mobile data solution aimed at long-term travelers, frequent fliers, and digital nomads who spend the majority of the year away from their home countries.
For years, the travel technology market has relied heavily on localized or regional eSIMs—digital SIM profiles embedded directly into modern smartphone hardware that allow users to connect to local networks without swapping physical plastic cards. While these single-destination products remain popular for short-term vacations, travelers navigating multiple countries within a short timeframe have often faced the repetitive task of purchasing, downloading, and activating new QR codes or data packages upon every border crossing.
Holafly Plans addresses this friction by establishing a single, standing global subscription that automatically reconnects the user to a supported cellular network upon landing in a new country. The model functions similarly to a traditional domestic mobile carrier service, but operates on an international scale at a significantly lower cost than conventional major carrier roaming passes.

The subscription model is offered on a monthly, quarterly, or annual basis, with users able to choose between two distinct tiers: the Light Plan and the Unlimited Plan. Both tiers operate across the same network of over 160 destinations and carry no long-term annual contracts, allowing subscribers the flexibility to cancel their service at any time.
The Unlimited Plan caters primarily to remote workers, digital nomads, and heavy data users who require consistent, high-capacity connectivity while traveling. It removes all data caps and includes an unlimited mobile hotspot allowance, enabling users to tether laptops and other devices on the go for video conferencing, media uploads, and intensive professional tasks. Furthermore, the Unlimited tier includes a local phone number originating from the United States, the United Kingdom, or Canada, granting users the ability to receive standard SMS messages while abroad.
For travelers with more moderate data needs, the Light Plan provides 25 gigabytes of high-speed data per month. While tailored for everyday tasks such as navigation, messaging, and occasional browsing, it retains the mobile hotspot feature and the full global destination coverage found in the higher tier.

Both subscription tiers also incorporate Holafly’s "Always On" feature. Once activated, subscribers automatically receive one gigabyte of backup data every month for life, a provision that remains active even if the user eventually cancels their main subscription entirely. Pricing for the service varies depending on regional currency and the chosen billing duration, though quarterly and annual prepayment options offer percentage discounts compared to standard monthly billing. For instance, the unlimited annual tier averages approximately $55 per month, undercutting standard international roaming fees charged by major traditional domestic carriers.
The launch highlights a growing division in the international travel market between short-term vacationers and long-term location-independent professionals. Traditional Holafly eSIMs, which cover more than 200 individual destinations on a one-off basis for specific trip durations, remain the preferred option for travelers taking only one or two trips per year. For a standard two-week vacation in a single country, purchasing a localized, single-use eSIM continues to be the most cost-effective approach.
However, for individuals constantly in motion across multiple international borders, maintaining separate short-term data packages has historically introduced significant administrative overhead, potential connection drops during transit, and substantial financial expense. Major US-based carriers, for example, typically charge upwards of $100 to $300 per month for international roaming passes or daily add-on fees that frequently throttle high-speed data after a limited threshold. Holafly Plans seeks to capture this segment by offering an ongoing digital subscription that consolidates billing, connectivity, and device tethering into a single account.

The setup process relies entirely on digital activation through the provider’s smartphone application, enabling users to establish connectivity within minutes without visiting a physical retail storefront. While the service is structured to streamline international travel for remote professionals, the company maintains round-the-clock customer support to assist with any technical issues encountered during installation or cross-border transitions.
