When it comes to breaking into the world of high-end home furnishings with a debut collection, having a formidable background in the arts certainly helps. Kasseem “Swizz Beatz” Dean, the legendary Grammy-winning producer behind some of the biggest records for music icons like Beyoncé, Jay-Z, and Drake, already commands a notable presence in the architectural world. Having graced the cover of Architectural Digest and owning world-renowned modernist properties—such as the iconic Razor House designed by Wallace E. Cunningham overlooking the Pacific Ocean—Dean understands the profound intersection of living space and artistic expression. Today, that aesthetic sensibility expands outward as Dean officially launches his debut furniture and home decor line, Casa Dean by Swizz Beatz, in collaboration with popular modern home retailer CB2.
According to the artist and producer, transitioning from producing hit records to designing a comprehensive home collection felt like a natural extension of his creative process. Rather than viewing music and interior design as entirely separate disciplines, Dean discovered that both mediums flex the exact same artistic muscles. The expansive new line explores family-friendly home design through an uncompromisingly creative lens, featuring art-inspired upholstery, striking lighting solutions, sophisticated wall decor, hand-knotted rugs, and sculptural glassware. Every piece within the collection has been deliberately crafted to encourage quality time and connection among loved ones in a dynamic living environment.
"My goal for the collection was to bring families together, which is why I named it after my family," Dean explains regarding the inspiration behind the line. "I wanted to design what I thought was the creative home for all creatives—no matter what medium you choose."

Developed in close collaboration with Evan Jerry, the founder of Studio ANANSI and a prominent member of CB2’s prestigious Designer Collective, the collection is heavily saturated in rich earth tones, sweeping curved edges, and exceptionally luxurious textures. The design language of Casa Dean blends contemporary, channel-tufted sectionals wrapped in olive green velvet with plush, egg-shaped swivel chairs upholstered in fluffy taupe shearling, alongside playful drinkware crafted from smokey glass.
Among the standout pieces for Dean himself are the collection’s unique bubble-stemmed glasses, which bridge the gap between functional tableware and standalone sculptures. "I imagined these pieces as sculptures, so whether you’re using or viewing them, they always feel like art," he notes. Other prominent furnishings include the Brainstorm Leather Accent Chair, which is proudly upholstered in Dean’s absolute favorite shade of green.
"There’s a beautiful tension between bold, sculptural silhouettes and softer, more tactile materials," says Andrea Erman, CB2’s senior director of design and product development, describing the overall aesthetic direction of the collaboration. "The rich browns, warm ivories, bronze accents, and unexpected touches of color give everything a sense of warmth and sophistication."
Dean’s deep-rooted passion for art collecting—highlighted most recently by the public exhibition of his private holdings at the Brooklyn Museum in 2024—is further represented throughout the collection by a curated selection of commissioned paintings by artist Megan Gabrielle. This integration of fine art underscores Dean’s vision that a home should not merely display possessions, but should function as an immersive gallery that nurtures creativity and personal expression.

At the same time, deeply personal details are seamlessly woven into the functional framework of the collection. The aforementioned deep green leather covering the Brainstorm Chair also makes an appearance as a striking accent on the mappa burl wood Lam-Louie DJ Console—a playful nod to the producer’s musical roots and a recognition of the home as a space for entertainment. This recurring hue, British Racing Green, holds a special place in Dean’s design philosophy.
"I love that color on any car, furniture—I’d even paint the outside of a home with it," he says. "I feel it represents timelessness, elegance, and class."
Despite its comprehensive scope—encompassing more than 100 individual furniture and home decor items—a powerful sense of visual cohesion is readily apparent throughout the entire collection. For instance, the oxblood enamel hexagonal coffee table effortlessly pairs with both dark taupe and warm white New Zealand wool area rugs. This fluid interplay of colors and materials stands as a direct testament to Dean’s intuitive creative direction, proving that his artistic instincts translate seamlessly from the recording studio to the living room.
"Music is art, designing is art, so I used the same side of my brain I would use to make music, the medium was just different," Dean shares, reflecting on the dual nature of his creative output. "One is a sonic installation and the other is a visual and physical installation, they coexist like brother and sister."

The Casa Dean by Swizz Beatz collection is officially available for purchase online and in stores at CB2 starting today.
